Indulgences for the Dead

Question:

How can I offer the indulgences I gained to my deceased mother?

Answer:

There are certain indulgences that apply only to the dead. For example, from November 1 through November 8 if you visit a grave and pray for the person you can obtain a plenary indulgence for the deceased individual. And on November 2 you can obtain a plenary indulgence for the souls in Purgatory if you devoutly visit a church and pray an Our Father and the Creed.

The other way to obtain an indulgence for the dead is to simply fulfill any of the requirements for other offered indulgences with the spiritual intention of offering it for that deceased person.
