Question:
Why did God not just create us in heaven and allow us to leave if we chose to?
Answer:
Why did God create mammals with lungs, fish with gills, and spiders with eight legs? The simple answer is that without those things those creatures are not mammals, fish, or spiders. We are created as human beings, which means both body and soul. There already exist creatures that are in heaven and were allowed to leave if they so chose; they are called angels.
If God had created us differently, we would be different—we wouldn’t be human. We’d be either angels or some other creation. God created human beings to be material and spiritual beings who love and glorify him and all that he has created.
