Where Is the New Jerusalem?

Question:

Is the New Jerusalem or the Holy City Jerusalem in heaven, or is it some where else?

Answer:

Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory. For the wedding day of the Lamb has come, his bride has made herself ready (Rev. 19:7).

I also saw the holy city, a new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband (Rev. 21:2).

He took me in spirit to a great, high mountain and showed me the holy city Jerusalem coming down out of heaven from God (Rev. 21:10).

But the Jerusalem above is freeborn, and she is our mother (Gal. 4:26).

The “new Jerusalem” is a symbol of the Church, the bride of Christ. As such it exists both in heaven and on Earth through the communion of saints. At the Last Judgment, it will exist in the transformed world through the resurrection.
