Nonbelievers Can Study Canon Law

Question:

Do you need to be a believer to study Canon Law?

Answer:

Whether a particular school accepts non-Catholics into their canon law degree program is up to the individual school. Outside of that, there is no reason that anyone couldn’t study canon law. It is a legal system with its own logic, history, and precedents and could be studied in a similar manner to any other group’s legal system.
