Did God Create Sin?

No, God did not create sin.  God created free will so that we might be able to love.  Without free will there is no love.  Without free will all we can do is what we are programmed to do, we cannot make a free gift of ourselves.

Free will means that we can choose not to love, and that lack of love is the essence of sin.  While that possible choice is permitted by God that does not make him its creator, we are.
