Question:
Can a beatified person be chosen as a confirmation name?
Answer:
There are no hard and fast rules when it comes to choosing a confirmation name. It is a pious practice but it is not required by any Church law. Therefore, it is entirely up to the prudential judgment of your local parish or diocese on what the rules are. Personally, I don’t see why someone couldn’t choose the name of a person who has been beatified but not yet canonized.
