Question:
Can I take someone to a Protestant service as part of my job? I’m a caregiver for people with disabilities. I know it’s not wrong to attend a Protestant service, but is it different when you’re helping others get to church and helping them with communion?
Answer:
While a Catholic cannot fulfill his Sunday obligation in a non-Catholic worship service, the Church does permit Catholics to attend non-Catholic religious services on occasion for social or family reasons.
The situation you describe is not a Catholic attending a non-Catholic worship service, you are simply an employee bringing someone to his or her place of worship. The Church does not forbid this.
