Edgar Lujano, who joined the Catholic Answers team in January 2022, is the radio and podcast producer for Catholic Answers Studios. His responsibilities include building and managing the Catholic Answers podcast network, producing the Catholic Answers FOCUS podcast and Catholic Answers Live radio show, regularly serving as radio show call screener, and providing support for CA Live host Cy Kellett.
Prior to coming on board at Catholic Answers, Edgar taught theology and served as chair of the department at Cristo Rey High School in Sacramento, Calif. He also previously served as a campus minister for the Newman Center at California State University, Chico.
Tracing his ancestry to Catholics persecuted in Mexico during the Cristero War of the late 1920s—including family members on his mother’s side who changed their last name to avoid capture—he has a particular devotion to both St. Padre Pio and St. Thomas Aquinas.
A cradle Catholic, Edgar earned a bachelor’s degree in theology from Franciscan University in Steubenville, Ohio, and calls Ripon, Calif., his hometown. For nearly 20 years, he has been involved with confirmation programs and youth ministry, and in his free time, Edgar also hosts his own podcast and practices Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai martial arts.
