Why do Catholics believe that there will be no third temple (that the prophesies of the third temple were fulfilled by Jesus), although the Old Testament speaks of a temple which is a building that is to be built by the Messiah?

I take the contrary position. Jimmy acknowledges my position is in harmony with Catholic doctrine, but he also notes well that rebuilding the Temple need not be considered at odds with Church teaching, properly understood.
