Why Do Some People Call Themselves “Dominican” or “Jesuit Catholics,” but Are Not A Part of That Religious Order?

Question:

Why do some people call themselves "Dominican" or "Jesuit Catholics," but are not a part of that religious order?

Answer:

When people identify themselves with a particular religious order without actually belonging to it, it is because they like the influence it has had on them. They like its’ spirituality and the way it reflects the teachings of the Church.
