Why Church Won’t Embrace “Same-Sex” Marriage

Question:

Will the Catholic Church go the way of the Church of England and other denominations by accepting same-sex marriage?

Answer:

Because it is the one, true Church founded by Jesus Christ, the Catholic Church is protected from teaching formal error regarding “same-sex” marriage and other intrinsic moral evils. Indeed, Jesus said that the gates of hell would not prevail against his Church (Matt. 16:18-19), even if some Church representatives may not be faithful to the Church’s teaching. And so our trust is firmly grounded in our divine Savior. For more on this subject, see CCC 2357-59, this video presentation, and this article.
