Question:
When does the Bible say the world will end?
Answer:
When Jesus was asked this question, he said it was not for him to disclose (Matt. 24:36; see CCC 474, Mark 12:32, Acts 1:7). But the end will inevitably come, and any number of false predictions have taken place in recent centuries as various commentators have attempted to read the “biblical signs of the times.”
Regardless of whether the end of the world will come in our lifetimes, we know that we will have to face our particular judgments, which will undoubtedly be the end of the world for each of us (see CCC 1021-22).
