What Does It Mean to Be the Messiah?

Listen to the audio version of this content

Question:

What are the implications that come with being anointed, specifically, as the Messiah?

Answer:

There is only one Messiah, Jesus Christ the God-man (John 1-3, 14). For Jesus, his messianic mission entailed his dying for our sins and thereby triumphing over sin and death, as evidenced by his resurrection from the dead and ascension into heaven (see 1 Cor. 15:12-23).
