Question:
Answer:
No. It is sponsored by a private group that has no canonical relationship with the Catholic Church. The materials presented in the magazine do not contradict the teaching of the Church and generally promote the practice of the Faith. The sponsoring organization, the American Society for the Defense of Tradition, Family, and Property (TFP), does, however, have aspects of its teaching that are solely its own and come from philosophical roots that are not Catholic, even if they do not always contradict Catholic teaching.
The representatives of TFP will not admit to their teachings that are shared with their committed membership but not with the general public. It is important to be fair to them and to recognize the good they do but equally important to resist the spirit of secrecy they have about some of their teachings about society and history and the Catholic priesthood. The nature of the TFP organization is such that it would not ever seek official approval from the Catholic Church, and that is an appropriate stance.
