Souls and Angels Differ in Substance from God

Question:

Are human souls and angels (both good and bad) made of the same substance as God?

Answer:

Although human souls and angels (both good and bad) are immaterial like God, with intellect and will, they are not made of the same substance as God. In theology and philosophy, God’s substance refers to his divine nature. If human souls and angels were of the same substance as God, then human souls and angels would be divine. Obviously, this is not true. Human souls and angels belong to the created order. They are finite, and God is infinite.
