Sinful to Eat Sushi?

Question:

Is it a sin for a Catholic to eat raw fish like sushi

Answer:

No, it is not sinful to eat sushi, although eating sushi can have harmful health effects because of its uncooked nature.

Regarding food in general, certain foods were prohibited in the Old Covenant (see Lev. 11:1-47 and Deut. 14:3-21). However, Jesus relaxed the changeable Jewish disciplines regarding unclean foods (Mark 7:14-19; see Acts 10:9-16).
