Question:
Did Jesus have brothers and sisters?
Answer:
He did not have siblings who were children of the Blessed Virgin, since she was perpetually a virgin and had no other children. It is possible that St. Joseph may have been a widower and had children from a previous marriage, or that those whom the New Testament calls “brothers and sisters” of Christ were extended family members, such as cousins. For more information, I recommend the Catholic Answers tract Brethren of the Lord.
