Question:
How do you argue with an absurdist?
Answer:
According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, an absurdist is one who is “ridiculously unreasonable, unsound, or incongruous.” Consequently, if one is committed to being an absurdist, there’s no point in having a charitable argument with him. He’s not open to listening to what you have to say.
Instead, perhaps you could offer an article or book, if he is open to it, that he can read on his own. In any event, let your personal life witness be your best argument. As the aphorism goes, “Actions speak louder than words.”
