Organ Transplants Cannot Be Coerced, Sold

Question:

What is the Church’s stance on organ transplants from healthy donors? Ex) kidney trade in China

Answer:

Any organ given by a health donor cannot be coerced, must not cause the death of the donors, and should not be sold, as if the only rich should be given access to organ transplants.

For more on organ transplants, see our article by Dr. Tracey Trasancos, and this article by the National Catholic Bioethics Center.
