Near-Death Experiences at Odds with Catholicism

Question:

What do you say to people who claimed to have died, but had visions of God that were contrary to Catholicism, even having visions of the "God" figure telling them things like that the Catholic Church is wrong and evil?

Answer:

I would charitably respond that either they didn’t die and had a bad dream, which included erroneous details about the Catholic Church Jesus Christ founded (Matt. 16:18-19). Or they actually encountered an evil spirit, including perhaps one posing as an imposter of Christ, who misled them.

In any event, we must always subject our personal/subjective experiences to the objective historical truth about Jesus Christ and the Catholic Church he founded 2,000 years ago as his pillar and foundation of truth (1 Tim. 3:15) and thus instrument of salvation (Jn. 6:67-69).
