Ministries for Those Married Outside the Church

Question:

Are there any ministries during Mass that I can serve on if I’m not married by the Church?

Answer:

Yes, you may serve in some way that is not a direct liturgical ministry. That is, you could be an usher or sing in the choir or help with the collection or care for toddlers or traffic direction—namely, whatever ministries help those coming to Mass assist at Mass conveniently. But you should not be a cantor or reader or extraordinary minister of Holy Communion until your marriage can be blessed.
