May a Non-Virgin Become a Ministerial Priest?

Question:

can a man after breaking his virginity still become a priest?

Answer:

Yes, a non-virgin may become a ministerial priest, because God is rich in mercy and we thank him for it (Eph. 2:4ff.). And so we are reminded that all things work together for those who love the Lord (Rom. 8:28).

Consider even the remarkable case of Bartolo Longo, who once served as a Satanic priest, repented, became a ministerial priest in the Dominican order and has been canonized a saint.

In addition, married men with children who became widowers have subsequently become priests. They obviously were not virgins, though for other reasons.
