Kids Can’t Distribute Communion

Question:

May grade-school students distribute Communion?

Answer:

No, this is not permitted anywhere. Different regions and dioceses have different minimum ages for serving as an extraordinary minister of Holy Communion. In some places (for example, Vancouver, Canada) the age is twenty-one; in others, it can be as young as fifteen (for example, Fort Worth). Consult your diocese to see what the minimum age is in your area.
