Question:
How do you know when God is calling you?
Answer:
The first sign of a vocation is a persistent desire. Someone who is called to the priesthood—or the diaconate or the religious life or marriage—will want to be ordained—or want religious life or to marry. The Church tests and confirms all vocations, so someone who believes he has a vocation should do all that he can to pursue that vocation within the Church. Those with vocations to ordination or the religious life should speak with the vocations director of their diocese or of a religious order that interests them. Those called to marriage should begin to do what is possible to find a Catholic spouse, with the expectation of marrying in the Church.
