Question:
Is "The Interpreter’s Bible" a good resource? Can you recommend a better one?
Answer:
While The Interpreter’s Bible has merits, we cannot recommend it, because it is a Protestant biblical commentary and thus to one extent or another does not conform with Catholic teaching.
A worthwhile commentary is the Ignatius Catholic Study Bible New Testament. Ignatius Press expects to publish an Old Testament study component within a couple of years. The Didache Bible is another we recommend. You can purchase both online at shop. catholic.com.
