Catholics May Appreciate, Own Eastern Orthodox Art

Question:

Is it Okay For Roman Catholics to Appreciate Eastern/Orthodox Icons And View Them as Acceptable Images of Jesus, Saints, etc.?

Answer:

Catholic and Eastern Orthodox Christian share much in common, including our teachings affirming the divinity of Jesus Christ, the reality of the Holy Trinity, and recognition of the Communion of Saints and their power to intercede for us the faithful here on earth.

Consequently, there is no impediment for Catholics to appreciate or even own art that an Eastern Orthodox Christian has made, provided it doesn’t offended distinctively Catholic teaching, which is not likely to occur in artistic expressions.
