Question:
Answer:
Halley’s Bible Handbook began as a 16-page guide to understanding Scripture. In that regard, we offer you our very popular 32-page tract “Pillar of Fire, Pillar of Truth,” which provides a biblically rich overview of salvation history, and which can be conveniently “read online.”
Halley’s Bible Handbook has grown much bigger, with some editions now exceeding 1,100 pages. In turn, for Catholics—and anyone else interested in studying Scripture—we heartily recommend the Ignatius Catholic Study Bible New Testament, which also comes in hardcover and paperback editions.
Ignatius Press plans on publishing its complete study Bible (Old and New Testaments) sometime in 2019 or 2020. In the meantime and beyond, we also recommend A Catholic Introduction to the Bible: The Old Testament by Drs. John Bergsma and Brant Pitre.
