Some Charismatic prayer group Catholics are claiming all sicknesses even fever and common cold are spirits and God will heal us. Is that true?
Answer:
We’re not aware of any credible Catholic charismatic groups that claim such. We are vulnerable to sickness and subject to death because of our fallen nature and because of original sin and our personal sins (CCC 405-06; Rom. 6:23). But sicknesses themselves are not spirits, even if evil spirits will try to lead us to discourage re: God’s providence when we experience such.
