Question:
What kind of Rosary has 51 beads? Instead of going into the 1st decade saying your Hail Mary’s there are 3 beads and then a single bead before the 1st decade.
Answer:
There seems to be some confusion. We’re not aware of any Rosary with 51 beads.
You seem to be counting the three beads for the three “Hail Marys” that are prayed in beginning the Rosary and following the Apostle’s Creed (prayed while holding the crucifix) and an initial “Our Father” (while holding an isolated bead right above the crucifix).
So there are 6 beads for the “Our Fathers” prayed and 53 beads for the “Hail Marys” prayed, and thus a total of 59 beads in a standard Rosary.
