Siobhan Cruz Kelly, a native of Canada who has spent nearly all her life in Southern California, is the executive assistant to Catholic Answers President Christopher Check.
In her position, Siobhan (pronounced “shi-VAWN”) assists the president with his calendar and correspondence, manages his travel arrangements and public appearances, and coordinates his engagement with supporters, allied apostolates, and the institutional Church. She also serves as the corporate secretary for the Catholic Answers board of trustees and the executive committee. Perhaps one of her most important responsibilities, however, is fostering a joyful office environment through the planning and execution of staff activities.
Siobhan is a graduate of the University of California, San Diego with a bachelor’s degree in general biology and a minor in science education. Before joining Catholic Answers in January 2022, she taught middle school science in both public and Catholic schools and served as a walking tour guide in the education department of the world-famous San Diego Zoo’s Safari Park.
A cradle Catholic with devotions to St. Bernadette Soubirous and St. Francis de Sales, Siobhan finds inspiration in those saints’ witness to building a simple and joyful Catholic life through charity. In her free time, she teaches Sunday catechism classes for middle schoolers at her local parish and enjoys visiting the beach as often as she can. While traveling, she loves collecting souvenir magnets from the places she visits.
