Paul Claudel

Paul Claudel (1868-1955) was a poet, dramatist, and diplomat. He served as the French ambassador to Japan (1921-1927), to the U.S. (1927-1933), and to Belgium (1933-1935). Perhaps his best known play is The Satin Slipper.
