Brook Castrejón Solis

Development Assistant

Brook Castrejón Solis is development assistant for Catholic Answers, providing across-the-board administrative support for the department’s major gifts, direct response, and monthly giving efforts. Her particular responsibilities include coordinating the production of monthly pledge and thank-you letters, writing content for Catholic Answers Magazine, and contributing to the team’s foundation-related and corporate giving initiatives.

Born and raised in Southern California, Brook joined Catholic Answers in May 2022 as a customer service representative. In that role, she handled inbound and outbound customer communications, processed donations and bulk product orders, resolved customer concerns, and conducted office tours for visitors, among other duties.

An accomplished artist, Brook graduated with honors from New York City’s School of Visual Arts, having earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in illustration. Prior to the birth of her first child, she was assistant to the art department chair at San Diego’s Cuyamaca College, and in 2022, she painted the large crucifix seen above the main stage at that year’s Catholic Answers national conference.

Brook is a graduate of San Diego’s Bonita Vista High School and is a convert to the Catholic faith. She and her husband, Carlos—also an accomplished artist—have two daughters, and in her spare time, Brook enjoys traveling with her family and thrifting. Interestingly, Brook’s twin sister also converted to Catholicism shortly after Brook came into the Church.

A Discalced Carmelite Secular who says she discovered the joy of daily meditation and the Liturgy of the Hours as a result of her vocation, Brook is a devotee of St. Clare, St. Colette, and St. Rita. She also fosters a special devotion to Our Lady of Knock, who appeared in Ireland in 1879.
