Catholic Answers is launching our very own school of apologetics!
After the Second Vatican Council, apologetics went into an eclipse. It was considered too confrontational, too “triumphalistic,” not ecumenical enough. As a result, the apologetics training that priests received dried up.
While our work benefits people in many ways, up to now we haven’t been able to provide the kind of in-depth teaching that will take people’s knowledge to the next level. What’s more, no one else is providing it, either—at least when it comes to Catholic apologetics.
It’s easy to find Protestant colleges and seminaries that offer not only bachelor’s degrees but even master’s degrees and doctorates in apologetics. There’s nothing like that in the Catholic world!
But the Catholic Answers School of Apologetics (CASA) will change that. It’s an effort we’ve been planning for years. Through CASA, we will be bringing you a wide range of informative and exciting courses that will help you strengthen your knowledge of the Faith and your ability to defend it.
The courses will include dynamic video presentations as well as other innovative teaching and learning methods. They will be taught by staff experts including Jimmy Akin, Tim Staples, Trent Horn, Karlo Broussard, and Chris Check, as well as by trusted experts associated with the ministry.
The first DVD in the series, Beginning Apologetics (Apologetics 101) with Jimmy Akin, is already in the can. Please keep us in your prayers as we launch this bold new venture. We want God to use it to bless as many souls as possible!
