Acts 19:11–12
And God did extraordinary miracles by the hands of [the apostle] Paul, so that handkerchiefs or aprons were carried away from his body to the sick, and diseases left them and the evil spirits came out of them.
Catholic Perspective
Relics are physical remnants of a saint’s body, or of objects closely associated with Christ, the Blessed Mother, or the saints. The Church venerates these remains as reminders of the saint’s life and God’s work within that saint; it recommends the veneration of relics as a means of receiving graces from God. The New Testament indicates that the first Christians reverenced physical objects touched by Christ and his apostles.
