The callers choose the topics during Open Forum, peppering our guests with questions on every aspect of Catholic life and faith, the moral life, and even philosophical topics that touch on general religious belief.

Questions Covered:

• How does a Catholic balance the observance of advent as a time of penance, while also being joyful during the cultural season of Christmas that occurs before Christmas Day?
• What is the Church’s teaching on the rapture? Is there a universal understanding of what this is?
• I bought something from an antique store that said it was a relic. I was doing some reading online about relics and I am curious if it is okay that I made this purchase?
• Are there any saints that are disabled or any saints that are African?
• When people start to put aspects of the liturgy in a moral framework and stating you have to do things a specific way to be moral, is that distracting from the Mass and the sacraments?
• I’d like to ask about discernment of physical signs and how we can interpret these as far as God speaking to us. If we pray for a loved one in purgatory and receive a physical sign, is this from God, or our relative, or how do we interpret this?
