The callers choose the topics during Open Forum, peppering our guests with questions on every aspect of Catholic life and faith, the moral life, and even philosophical topics that touch on general religious belief.

Questions Covered:

• 03:43 - If the Protestant Reformation didn’t happen 500 years ago, isn’t it likely that it would have happened later? Someone later in time was likely to bring up arguments against the Church similar to those of Luther?
• 15:42 - Was Martin Luther right on some of the issues that the Church had in his 95 Theses?
• 21:00 - When we say a prayer, “Jesus, Mary, I love you. Save souls”, is this the same as praying for the souls in purgatory? This is a prayer I often say when driving past the cemetery.
• 30:00 - In the Bible, we read to call no one Rabbi; you have one father. Could you give me your take on this? I have been raised Catholic, but none of the reasons I have heard for priests being called “Father” has ever really settled with me.
• 36:35 - I would like to ask about the Catholic teaching for the burial of children that have not been baptized (including stillborn). I’ve been told they are not allowed to be buried in the cemetery or that there is a separate area for them in the cemetery.
• 42:00 - We had a Mass on campus that was celebrated in commemoration of the Reformation. This seemed very unusual to me and am curious what your thoughts are on this. Isn’t the Reformation typically viewed as a bad thing by Catholics?
• 46:10 - Could you speak about the Protestant cultural schism and the individualism that is so prevalent in America?
• 50:00 - Could you speak a little about the difference between the ordinary and extraordinary form of the Mas, such as the rites and some of the Catholics that reject the novus ordo?
