Ask Trent Anything – Questions Covered:
- 04:06 - Elizabeth Loftus proved that our memory is often unreliable. How do we know that the memory of the apostles was reliable?
- 16:41 - Thoughts on whether it is sinful to watch movies that contain lots of instances of GD? Certainly not something I’d go out of my way to hear, but should I then never watch certain movies, many of which are considered “classics,” because they take the Lord’s name in vain in this way? Appreciate all the work you do!
- 29:21 - Some atheists claim the biggest evidence that God doesn’t exist is the self-contradictory nature of the definition of God that I most commonly hear from apologists. God is supposedly a timeless, spaceless, disembodied mind. To say that something exists is to say that it has location in spacetime or is spacetime itself. How would you respond?
- 36:22 - What are your thoughts on Twitter? Keep it or leave it?
- 42:01 - Hi Trent, in your video “The One Question Transgender Advocates Can’t Answer” you define woman as someone who is ordered towards gestation. A med student friend challenged me by bringing up the case of someone who has complete androgen insensitivity syndrome (CAIS). In the case he mentioned, the person appears female and was raised as a female despite having male chromosomes. Under your definition, it seems the person would be a man since they are naturally ordered to impregnation, despite having female sex characteristics. This is difficult on an emotional level since the person was raised as a woman, appears to be a woman, and in some cases even gets married to a man (invalidly, I assume) before finding out about their disorder. What do you make of this case?
- 48:48 - How’s your research going on the morality of eating meat? I’m really keen to hear your view on the matter. I’m vegetarian and a fan of Charlie Camosy’s work with his application of the Consistent Life Ethic on animals. Have you engaged with his work?
- 53:57 - What’s your favorite color?
